ALUMNI POLICY



St. Gregorios Dental College Alumni Association shall serve as a platform to bridge the gap of student-alumni interaction and the activities will ensure the upliftment of College and students. The affairs of the association shall be managed by an Executive Committee consisting of 11 members, viz., President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and 7 executive members. The 12 th Act (1995) of the Travancore Cochin Literary, Scientific, Charity Organization Registration will be applicable to the functioning of the St. Gregorios Alumni Association.

OBJECTIVES

  • To connect the existing alumnus with the college and bridge the gap of communication between alumnus and students.
  • To promote exchange of academic and corporate experience with the students.
  • To mentor and channelize the efforts of the students seeking better opportunities to learn and grow.
  • To promote a goodwill and sense of pride to both alumni and students.
  • To help and support alumnus development.
  • To advice and conduct activities that shall motivate and upgrade student skill.
  • To associate with the college management in planning and execution of alumni events.


FUNCTIONS OF ASSOCIATION

  • Bring the old students of St. Gregorios Dental College under one forum for exchange of experience, sharing career opportunities and dissemination of knowledge amongst its members and the students. This will reduce the gap between the college and alumni.
  • Organizes seminars, conferences, workshops and meetings of medical professionals and faculties for the purpose of promotion of medical knowledge and skill.
  • Advice and interact with state and central government bodies, universities, professional associations and association of pharmaceutical and medical equipment manufacturing industries and marketing agencies on matters relating to promotion of medical education and training, hospital management and health care delivery systems.
  • Create and establish endowments for granting scholarships and prizes to the students and researchers with a view to promote and encourage talents of students.
  • Raise or collect funds by subscriptions, contributions, donations, loans or by any other legal means for the development of college.
  • Periodical association meetings will be conducted to assess the implementation and progress of the decision taken.
  • Further, the association may, organize sports, games and other social activities for the benefit of its members and their families.
  • Annual general body meeting conducted for selection of new members in association, discussion of future plans and submission of annual report including statements of income and expenditure.
