ANTI-RAGGING POLICY
Anti-Ragging Committee (ARC) in St. Gregorios Dental College is the monitoring and advisory committee to create a ragging free campus in the college. The activities of ARC will build a rapport within the students and help them to become a responsible citizen.
OBJECTIVES
- To prohibit any physical or mental harm or any misbehaved act against any student causing fear, agitation or dread in him/her.
- To create a ragging free environment in the campus for students.
- To make awareness among students about ragging and its consequences.
- To maintain a continuous vigilance over ragging issues so as to prevent its occurrence.
- To take immediate and strict action against the defaulters who are found guilty of ragging and /or abetting ragging, actively or passively.
- To take appropriate measures to achieve the objectives of eliminating the dehumanizing actions within the institution or outside.
- To promote an atmosphere of discipline by handing out a clear message that act of rage in the premises of the college or outside will be tolerated.
FUNCTIONS and PROCEDURE of ARC
- Committee conducts an awareness class on ragging and punishments for students.
- A training program is conducted for staffs and hostel wardens about the protocol of ragging and reporting measures.
- Banners and posters regarding anti-ragging measures are displayed in the college and hostel premises for awareness of students.
- ARC members list with phone numbers are displayed in the college and hostel.
- The function of the anti-ragging squad is to keep vigilant in the campus and hostels to prevent any incidents of ragging.
- Anti-ragging squad can report any incidence of ragging to the convenor of anti-ragging committee.
- Students can register complaints in write up or through phone call to any members of the anti-ragging committee.
- Committee will conduct an enquiry and take necessary action with immediate effect.
- If the complaint is genuine and the complainant wants to proceed the complaint, the committee will submit report to the head of the institution.
- The head of the institution will inform to higher authorities for legal proceedings.
