ANTI-RAGGING POLICY

Anti-Ragging Committee (ARC) in St. Gregorios Dental College is the monitoring and advisory committee to create a ragging free campus in the college. The activities of ARC will build a rapport within the students and help them to become a responsible citizen.

OBJECTIVES

To prohibit any physical or mental harm or any misbehaved act against any student causing fear, agitation or dread in him/her.
To create a ragging free environment in the campus for students.
To make awareness among students about ragging and its consequences.
To maintain a continuous vigilance over ragging issues so as to prevent its occurrence.
To take immediate and strict action against the defaulters who are found guilty of ragging and /or abetting ragging, actively or passively.
To take appropriate measures to achieve the objectives of eliminating the dehumanizing actions within the institution or outside.
To promote an atmosphere of discipline by handing out a clear message that act of rage in the premises of the college or outside will be tolerated.

FUNCTIONS and PROCEDURE of ARC

Committee conducts an awareness class on ragging and punishments for students.
A training program is conducted for staffs and hostel wardens about the protocol of ragging and reporting measures.
Banners and posters regarding anti-ragging measures are displayed in the college and hostel premises for awareness of students.
ARC members list with phone numbers are displayed in the college and hostel.
The function of the anti-ragging squad is to keep vigilant in the campus and hostels to prevent any incidents of ragging.
Anti-ragging squad can report any incidence of ragging to the convenor of anti-ragging committee.
Students can register complaints in write up or through phone call to any members of the anti-ragging committee.
Committee will conduct an enquiry and take necessary action with immediate effect.
If the complaint is genuine and the complainant wants to proceed the complaint, the committee will submit report to the head of the institution.
The head of the institution will inform to higher authorities for legal proceedings.
