Evaluation is an ongoing process based on specific criteria designed to assess learner performance.
Evaluation is carried out through two methods:
- Formative or Internal Assessment: Conducted periodically by the institution through a series of tests and internal examinations.
- Summative or University Examinations: Administered by the university at the end of the course.
Evaluation methods include:
- Written tests
- Practical examinations
- Clinical examinations
- Viva voce (oral examinations)
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to sit for the university examination for a particular year for the first time, a candidate must have:
- a minimum of 80% attendance in all subjects for exam going subjects
- at least 70% attendance in lectures and practical/clinical sessions separately for non-exam subjects
- achieved at least 40% in internal assessment marks for that subject.
Candidates who fail the examination may retake the university examination, provided they meet the following conditions:
- They have at least 70% attendance in both theory and practical during the supplementary period.
- They have obtained a minimum of 40% in the internal assessment conducted during the supplementary period.
