WATER CONSERVATION POLICY
Introduction
St. Gregorios Dental College is committed to using and preserving water resources effectively by implementing water conservation mechanisms, sustainable management of the water distribution system, and reutilization of wastewater.
Objectives
- Ensure Continuous Supply: To ensure continuous and adequate water supply.
- Investment in Storage: To promote investment for various water storage units.
- Wastewater Utilization: To monitor effective utilization of wastewater treatment and its reuse.
- Awareness Initiatives: To conduct awareness classes for efficient water usage.
- Conservation Programs: To organize water conservation programs.
Action Plan
- The continuous and adequate supply of water on campus is achieved by constructing various water storage units to ensure availability during summer.
- Wastewater on campus is treated using a sewage treatment plant that cleans wastewater efficiently and reuses it in non-potable applications such as groundwater replenishment and gardening.
- Awareness classes for staff and students, along with various programs, are conducted in association with NSS, Nature Club, and the Students' Union to understand the importance of water conservation and management.
