OVERVIEW

Periodontics is a specialized area of dentistry dedicated to the study, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease. It also focuses on maintaining the health, function, and aesthetics of the tissues that support and surround the teeth, including the gums, alveolar bone, periodontal ligament, and cementum.

Dept of periodontics is equipped with advanced equipment like soft tissue Laser unit, electrocautery, ultra-sonic scalers, centrifuge, various bone grafting materials and dedicated surgical room for providing high-quality patient care. A dedicated seminar room, laser clinic, undergraduate clinic, sterilization room, and patient counseling area are available to ensure superior care.

The Department is dedicated to offering superior education and training to dental students and interns. Its academic programs are crafted to impart the knowledge, skills, and experience needed for success in the field of periodontics. Undergraduate curriculum emphasizes core curriculum covering basic principles of periodontal health and disease and clinical training including hands-on experience in diagnosing and treating periodontal conditions under the supervision of experienced faculty.
