OVERVIEW

• The Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics deals with Fillings, aesthetic restorations, crowns, bleaching or whitening of teeth, Root canal treatment and some more.
• There are 8 trained and dedicated MDS staff to overlook matters of the Department.
• We have Undergraduate and Post graduate students in our department.
• Our training for students starts from the 1st year onwards. The first 2 years of the BDS course are when we train students to work on models and simulated phantom heads to attune them in the fineness of the work so that they are prepared well when they enter Clinics in 3rd year where they have to work on patients.
• The students are trained to provide aesthetic restorations, silver fillings (amalgam) and anterior root canals in the Undergraduate level.
• In the Post graduate level, they are trained for more where in addition to what the undergraduates do, they also perform root canals in the posteriors, bleaching, inlays, revascularisation and regeneration procedures. In addition, the Post graduates under the guidance of the staff, have a YouTube channel "Infodontics" where the subject is taught in a simplified manner through animation by them.
• Our Department MDS staff has compiled a detailed "Preclinical Manual" for the use of students in Preclinicals.
• Through attending CDE courses, hands on courses and Conferences, both the students and the staff stay updated.
• Our Post Graduate students and staff present papers and posters at State, National and International conferences and have won prizes several times. They also publish articles in well-established journals.
